Forensic Science student Shavari Fagan’s research was recently featured by the Rutgers-Camden NewsNow team. Shavari plans to research CBD vape liquid for the presence of contaminants as well as the possibility for conversion to THC. CBD is not a controlled substance but THC is which could lead to erroneous criminal charges for those that use CBD products. In the process of his research, Shavari has learned a lot about vape pens, their construction and design, as well as the potentially hazardous composition of vape liquids. Shavari has teamed up with Dr. Gene Hall from Rutgers-New Brunswick who has been investigating the dangers of vaping recently. Together the pair hope to better understand the chemicals in vape liquid and their role in the current health crisis.
